try to find out the reason, why the RDP client won't start:
Please open a xterm (ctrl+alt+shift+x) and copy+paste the starter-command from
the desktop-icon
(rightclick--properties--starter) into it.

Is anyone else having problems loading the RDP client, it says its starting,
but then automatically closes? I've tried changing the setting to auto start
and connect to a server but that also auto closes.#
Has anyone else had similar problems?

Hi Kevin,
I had a similar issue, what client are you using freerdp or rdesktop? most
probably it is related to the settings of the application. if you are
connecting to a windows machine are you sure remote control is enabled and
if it is a win 7 machine it is better if you select the less secure
