Both switches list 'RFC 1213 MIB-II' support in their data sheets, so
it should be possible.

couldn't get the D-links to work (they're used to Cisco switches).

We're using Dlink gigabit switches because they cost a fifth the
price of Cisco or Allied Telesyn & until now they worked fine.
Unfortunately Opsview can't report on individual ports with them and
this was one of the main reasons for getting Opsview in the first
place.
