I want to try using RMAN in just 1 machine with 2 databases ( client and target ) .
I have followed every single step in manual , but there's always error ...
Do we must run RMAN in 2 machines ?

We got very similar errors when upgrading from 8.0.4 to 8.1.5 and then to
8.1.7.

It took me 40minutes to migrate, becaz Odma only create a new oracle 8
dictionary, and then populates

I migrate the Oracle 7.3.4.5 to Oracle 8.1.6.0.0, in the following way:
1) I exported the data
2) I removed off Oracle 7
3) I installed Oracle 8
4) I imported the data

We tried opening a DB that had been run on 32 the bit executables under
HP-UX 10.20 with Oracle 64 bit executables on HP-UX 11.0. We received about 8
ORA-00600 errors each with 5 to 8 parameters reported. The folks at OTS told us
what we had done in about 2 minutes just from the erro
