(ERP) DB. T1 is a hierarchical bill-of-materials ("BOM") and T2 is the part
master. Of course, we need to recurse down T1, like this:

underscore have been manually created - typically by
statspack installation.
The X$ and V$ views can pretty much be based on
anything they want - sourced from memory,

I thinks it more that people often use it where it is
not required. For example, they'll code (in PL/SQL)
select some_expression
into variable
from dual
instead of
variable := some_expression;
The other side of the equation is excessive use of
SYSDATE or USER in PL/SQL, because x := sysdate;
The creation of the new tablespace (using a tempfile)
will be virtually instantaneous - so what will matter
is the time to drop the original one. You could
probably get away with drop-then-create, but your
latter option is probably the safest.
