ok... now i'm praying... cos after i had sent this mail to the list askling for suggestions.. my junior DBA deleted the trigger from trigger$ ! things are ok now he says... and this _is_ a production schema.. ! we are _not_ encountring any errors now, but i did shutdown/startup and took a

and did you explain to this junior that if he ever does it again, he will be minus a few fingers? Even if things are okay now and you could do a shutdown/startup and took a backup, I'd export the database and recreate it. The backup you took is of the system AFTER the deletion from trigger$.
