I asked CA a sales rep couple of months ago regarding the pricing for ERwin. If memory
serves me correctly, it was in the neighborhood of 3 to 5k per user license.
Also, I worked briefly with Sybase Power Designer and think it is fairly impressive.
Or maybe it has been incorporated into

You might want to check out ER Studio by Embarcadero, although it's not

Title: RE: ERWIN vs Designer
Assuming you can't just use the Access Relationships editor to do this (if all you're doing is drawing the diagrams, I'd use the diagram that's already there), ERWin has a much easier learning curve. It's bloated, but it works.

I've never used ERWIN or Designer 2000 (or whatever it is called now) so I
don't know which product would produce the best results with the smallest
learning curve. Does anyone have any advice/opinions?

I spent the weekend screwing around with Erwin. What a waste. I could not
believe how poorly it generated DDL. Has anyone gotten this product to
generate DDL in a readable, logical manner?

I am using ERWin 4.0. When it saves a file it saves it "read only". So, I
have to go out into properties on the file and uncheck this box. Is there
anywhere in ERWin where I can default this to not save read only? I can't
find any.

Ken,
Yes, you can reverse engineer an Oracle database and create ERD's, DDL,
etc. It's pretty slick. Just make sure you have your tnsnames and
connectivity set up properly on your pc first. Also, you need to pay
attention to the version of ERWin that you're using. You wa
