Keith, yes, it's regular behaviour that the TS$ entry remains but the discrepancy between those 2 views is a bug which is fixed in 8.0.6. Basically, DBA_TABLESPACES excludes 'INVALID' tablespaces but USER_TABLESPACES doesn't. There are duplicates for the bug. The numbers are 284887, 553723 and 5
