The important thing to keep in mind in any discussion of water temperature, as it relates to watering our orchids, is common sense. The terms, hot, cool, warm, and cold are all relative. They have a different meaning to an orchid plant than they do for us.

Hi Nicholas -
I purchased a seedling 2 years ago that was labeled
'winter blooming' - so there must be cultivars that
bloom at other times. It came from Carter & Holmes,
perhaps they could assist you.
Not much help. Regards - Nancy

Dear Nicholas,
I have an Angraecum sesquipedale that blooms religiously in May right
around the Redlands festival. There is a gentleman, Johnson's orchids I
think, that only has A sesquipedale for sale in bloom and almost
nothing else, mine came from hum and I bought it at the redlands sale.

I wrote the registrar regarding this several months ago - he said
others had reported the same problem, and that it was a programmer's
problem. He indicated he would ask again about it - but the problem
remains. Sure would be nice to get it fixed.
