We don't useDE as Iron Phosphate works well under our conditions. But if you do, don't use pool filter grade - it has been heated and chemically treated. It won't kill insects and it is dangerous to breathe. ___ the OrchidGuide Digest (OGD)

Oh yes...I applied it liberally too...at one point, in desperation, I completely covered the soil (and much of the plant) in a pepper pottotal failure. But I think Ray's comments, as well as others, about grades of DE makes sense.Take care, Eric
