Oddly enough, I've been pondering similar questions of terminology
and recently sent an article to the BOS.
Anyway, I was looking at the issue from a slightly different
perspective, but I'll chuck in my tuppence-worth with regard to the artistic
folder:-

But some of us are. Maestro and virtuoso might capture the distinction
between a master director of folds and a master performer of folds.

I have also pondered what to call these things, and have no definite
answers. But at least here are some more words.

I agree that origamic compositions best suit the process, with
processes often being symphonies of techniques, tools and materials
The persistent (if transient) artifact of such a process is an
instance, the act of rendering the composition is an example instance,
instantiation or to
...I am partial to model ... but I think of it in the physics sense of
providing a representation or approximation of reality. Even unreality.
Every model has some range of validity, even if it is vanishingly small.
