I've tried every permutation on Google and the Origami Database, so now come to
the font of all knowledge - can anyone help me?

Hi all, the discussion on useless products reminded me that I wanted to order
some 'envelopeners' (a Dutch product I recall) as mine is about to fall apart
with old age (a bit like me). However, I can no longer find the site for
ordering. Anyone know if they're still made, and, if so, where I c

Just to add to this thread, though not directly origami, the wells in many old
houses in Japan have a small niche for storing important papers. Sumi ink, made
from soot, is water-proof, so keeping documents in the well would not damage
them, but significantly reduced

In response to Karen's note about this beautiful book, I used to collect
folk-toys, particularly paper ones, when living in Japan. I have one of these

fan it, it 'dances'. I think I got it in the far north of Honshu (

Origami history and chopstick rests?
Gerardo,
What an interesting topic!
While I can't provide the full answers that dear David Lister would have done,
I grew up in Japan in the 60s. People often just knotted their paper wrappers
