Dear friends, I'd like to ask you all what would be your answer to a person who is new to origami and asks what's the best paper for origami The answer might as easy as depending on what you intent to fold, all papers are potentially good to use for origami. But I'd like to have some input from

What would be the characteristics of a paper that can be considered universally good for origami. The rattle test:- Hold the paper by one corner and rattle it. If it doesn't rattle much, don't fold it. (This is, of course, just a general rule of thumb. The real answer is, as you say, 'Depends')
