warning: variable ‘xyz’ set but not used [-Wunused-but-set-variable].
(This type of warning is new in gcc 4.6)

Running osgviewer with the .osgt examples that you mentioned also works ok.

Vista 32bit using VS 2010, osgviewer with .osgt files runs ok.
