Not mentioned yet is my favorite alternative to masking tape: Drafting tape. 3M/Scotch makes it. Architects use it. It leaves no residue. Facilities that don't allow masking tape will usually allow drafting tape if you bring in a sample and let them experiment with it. Yours in adhesion! Jay
