Hello Jasmine and welcome to OSLIST!!
I still remember my first experience (as receiver/participant) in an OS
meeting. It was in October 2000 with Peace Corps in Bolivia. When gathered
in a circle, with the talking stick I praised OS, the group and above all of
them, our wonderful facilitator Cor

and reading about Open Space. It is reassuring to see that their are real
people out there really doing this. I'm moved by the generosity of all I
read about open space and the generosity I see in only the first few posts

Hi Joanna !
The only tip I can think of is to concentrate your attention on what you are
doing while you open space. It will help you letting go of fear, and naturally
welcome the group spirit. And, as others OSers said, even if some don't "get

How about this?
Could we do, if we had put our energies into it, a similar size and
popular OS event in some big city, would that be revolutionary,
evolutionary and worth the effort?
Playfully,

Joanna,
I've done 3 two hour sessions with MBA students (Different group each time)
in the past 6 months. They ALL "Got it" :-)
They especially got it when the issue was burning and the space open.
And I'm ALWAYS terrified the night before . . . But opening the space next
day seems to calm me.
Joanna--
My music teacher used to tell me that the terror I felt before a performance
was just energy that did not yet have a place to flow.
In my experience, most OS participants "get it" right away, and are only too
happy to self-organize. Sometimes, a few may not, but there are plenty of
