i can think of two ways to spin grief and loss, paul. one is in the moment of realizing, when it occurs to someone that they've been in a box. the loss of what didn't happen. the second is when folks 'get it' right away and then have to deal with letting go or maybe choosing between this newly

Hi, Harold! This is important. I've also encountered it as a gender bias issue--if you're wearing a short skirt or dress, you might not want to bend over in front of the group, and so you'll feel uncomfortable about fully participating. My easy solution: If it's a seated opening, I reserve one

Dear Paul, for myself, it was like a new lease on life opening up grand perspectives to unlearn my decades old OD-facilitation modes. Right, it should have been connected with grief but it was not. At the time, back in 1996, I did not consciously realize that I was unlearning anything... I

I've finally realised what's been bugging me. It's the idea that unlearning facilitation is often a step of huge grief. It somehow needs three days of facilitation Etc. I beg to differ. The human soul needs only to open space for its own unlearning. Do we not believe we can invite those who

that's pretty much the point of clean language, harrison... letting the native speaker(s) tell their story. or, said another way, it's the practice of finding one more thing to not say. it ain't the magic invitation bullet, but it is an interesting view. -- Michael Herman Michael Herman

Clean Language! Sounds a little suspect to me. But walking the talk, and talking the walk is definitely what it (real invitation) is all about. Doing all of that is not something you will learn in a “facilitation” class. Actually, don’t even try. Find a native speaker. ho Winter Address
