considered "extended information" you have the wrong program.
There are many advantages
this feature would be really great!
the info must be available, i guess?
in the meantime i used the (unhandy) workaround and planned a route around
the point that interests me so i would see the altitude..
@osmand team? do you foresee this feature in the future?

Hear hear!
Traveling in california this summer I would have loved to be able to quickly
check the altitude of my possible campsites.
The weather was terribly hot this summer, and 100 meters higher altitude means
1 degree celcius less hot.
And as already pointed out the information is already
I agree, this would also be also very helpful for me. I’m missing very
often a quick and easy possibility to see the altitude of a point, without
extra starting a navigation.

I have seen this feature in Locus. I think that altitude value visible in
context menu would be very useful and also "not-so-difficult" to implement.
OsmAnd gives precise informations about altitude, ascent, descent under
route/navigation panel, so why not placing alti value in the context
