I had the same trouble. I am using Windows 10 and downloaded the binaries
and unzipped the contents to a folder on my C drive C:\OTB620\.

I am having the same trouble. I have QGIS v 2.18.4 installed but cannot
access otb. I'm wondering which are the individual otb plugins that you
selected and also, do I have to set the libraries and paths? How is that
done in QGIS?

I've used osgeo4w installer. There is full integration of OTB into QGIS and
most of the modules running.
