Is it possible to do boolean searches (using the API) - (for example:
from=em...@address.com or freetextfield1=somevalue) or do I have to do two
separate searches and intersect the results myself?

Glad to hear that there is work being done to get a .deb out there.
Just in case you weren't aware, the backports repo is a great way to
upgrade software whose dependencies haven't changed too much. This
would easily allow for a 3.0.5 -> 3.1 upgrade with minimal trouble.

I have an instance of OTRS running which I used SOAP to connect to, everything
works just fine. The base operating system is CentOS 5.5, OTRS version is 3.0.5
and SOAP::Lite is installed in version 0.710.10 (since 7.12
