fixed the problem (see below) by changing Config.pm back to:
# CustomerPriority
# (If the customer can set the ticket priority)
$Self->{CustomerPriority} = 1;
it appears to be a bug (#159) in this feature.
i get the same error with or without the following line in
CustomerMessageNew.

Some newbie questions...
Firstly, would you say that the following usage scenario is realistic?
1. New tickets arrive via email, phone or web (customer.pl) all into
their own 'incoming' queues or, say, the Raw queue.
