always connected in a virtual machine running on Hyper-V on a 4 year old
real machine. OTRS is stable but sometime you can run into surprises when
you try to upgrade (search the mailing list to see my recent failed

The best option is the one you can support. The general consensus is
probably that Linux would be less problematic over time, especially via
upgrade paths, but that's not to say people haven't had success on Windows.

We have OTRS 3.2.9 running on an OpenSUSE 11.2 server, but we want to have OTRS
running on a different server. The preferred OS for us is Windows, but I don't
know if running OTRS on Windows (2003/2008) is as reliable as running on Linux,
