Definitely sounds like the 1-Wire bus is getting shorted out.

If the DS18B20 is using parasitic power then you can’t do the read command or
it can cause the T convert to fail.

Colin,
Unless the devices are externally powered that won’t work reliably. For
instance a DS19S20 requires a strong pull-up during the entire conversion time
so if you are issuing more Match ROM commands during the conversion time the
bus activity may keep the DS18S20 from completing the conver

It is the voltage regulator heating up the board, it usually stays at a
consistent amount so you can
subtract the "offset" and get the correct temperature. Also the DS2438 has self
heating issues so I
would not use the temperature from the DS2438. We offer the combined board but

There shouldn't be any problem with this. As long as the SSR can provide

John,
It sounds like the DS2760 is in sleep mode. You can look at the thread
here http://www.weathertoys.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=70. It talks
about our Moisture Meter but is the same for any DS2760 based device.
Hope that helps.

An 85 is returned if the temperature conversion had a problem or is not

You just have to watch running 1-Wire and anything else in the same
cable. The 1-Wire protocol can be very touchy, it was originally
designed for a 1-Wire slave to be a few inches away from the master not
many feet. That being said it can be done but there are so many factors

I think that would be pretty hard in 1-Wire. I'm not sure the 1-Wire
data stream would be consistent enough for IR communications. I think
using something like a PIC would be a better route, plus you can get
some PICs for a good bit cheaper than the DS2406.

but I have not had any reports of people using it that way. You would
