This may be a daft question..if the midwives in
the Community Midwifery programme in WA have PI insurance, and the insurance
company agrees that midwifery practice is low risk..why can't it be
nationwide?

The midwives are employed by the Health Dept and don't have individual
insurance. The program midwives are covered by the Insurer just as if they
worked in a hospital. MM
