Dave,
The problem is that "they" forgot to remove the "CreatorID DB Down Due To HW
Failure" message off the Opening page. I was finally able to get in tonight,
but didn't try at first because of the "Beware of Dog" sign posted on the

Anyone else have trouble with Palms Creator ID registration process?
Submitting the form or doing a lookup results in a "Page Not Found".

This is supposedly fixed in CodeWarrior R7, for a small $190 upgrade fee.
(or you can search the egroups archives for BDWM to find past posts related
to this. It is also in the FAQ).

So, it sounds like outside of USB debugging support (which will mainly
benefit hardware developers because most developers probably use POSE),
there isn't any new features in R7. (I don't consider an improved "find" a
feature, just catching up with the more mature editors). $190 for bug fixes
that

source code control. We finally saw that the rsc files were set to
read-only, and after changing their settings, all was fine.
Metrowerks/Palm: please add that check (read-only files) to the list of
fixes for future Constructor updates.

So, we will be charged to get the standard windows context edit menu
features? And we would have to move to the Pro version even if we didn't
want/need it?

Context menus with cut/copy/paste are also "Standard Windows" features.
Don't assume that because you prefer the keyboard shortcuts, that other
people should be forced to do it that way.

David,
The .zip file include PalmOSGlue.lib.bin, and PalmOSGlue(Debug).lib.bin.
Are these files supposed to replace the PalmOSGlue.lib (no .bin) files, etc?

Ben,
Thanks for the update! I just wanted to know that it was at least still a
consideration and hadn't died somewhere along the way. I know you probably
can't comment on this, but is this expected to be a free "tool", or is there
a cost for using it.

Also point your online retailers at it. PalmGear, Handango, and Smaller.com
are loosing money because of these types of sites and I know that Ken West
at PalmGear is interested in shutting these sites down.

Ok, so no bias on your part .
I actually have "Activate Brower" turned on. I'm trying this on a machine

Yes, there are times when it does shine. And yes, there are times when I've
thought that it had features that I wish the "other" IDEs had. Thanks for
pointing out the control-dbl-clk trick. I always go
LONG way to go to catch up with the
Borland/Microsoft/Symantec IDEs usability ( I'm speaking from a Windows
perspective Mac users may think otherwise. ). I'm not talking about the
compilers, which I think MW has a good handle on...just the "80's" IDE.

All right... Curiosity has got the Cat. We all love to complain about the

Badly Documented Window Message?
Booted Daily While Mad?
Better to Debug With Macintoshes?
Buggy Debugger Windows Mechanism?
What's it mean?

For some reason, Metrowerks decided to remove the VSS plugin from the CW R6
release ( guess the palm platform isn't professional enough to justify
source code control support from them anymore... ). Good news is that the
plugin from R5 works just fine in the R6 release. We have been using it for
