Hello,
I just realized that in order to be able to read Fluent files and MFIX *.RES
files I need some kind of readers, where could I download those in order to
visualize images from these two codes.

Hi Utkarsh,
I'm well aware of the fixes for Win introduced since, but they do not
resolve everything: I updated to top of cvs and compiled from scratch
just now. The segfault during compilation remains. But only for SuSE
Linux Enterprise Server 10 as far as I can tell.

It is correct that MPI_Init is not called for builtin. This is because the
paraview client application itself is not a parallel application. It has no
MPI facilities, so MPI cannot be used within it. If you want to use MPI, you
have to connect to a pvserver.

I think ParaView do not call MPI_init for builtin connection when it compile
with MPI. Is that correct? Hard time to locate the right code. When ParaView
do not call MPI_Init this cause me some problem. My reader uses mpi io, and
do not work without mpi.
My 2 case is this:

Try updating. A bug was introduced in getClassInfo() that resulted in
stack overflows which has been fixed since.

Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone else is having problems compiling ParaView from
CVS on SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 Service Pack 2 since the commit

I use following code to display tensors with ellipsoid glyphs:

That sounds awesome! The answer is yes :-) We can put it on the
ParaView Wiki if you are willing.

John,
This should be fixed now. The problem was that the plugin manager
loads the server manager xml every time a plugin is loaded be it on
server or client. Until now, that didn't do much harm since the old
xml would simply get replaced by the new one. However I added a new
tag which allows the

I do! And I know who to blame as well -- me :). I'll look at it. I
knew about this but then totally forgot about it before I committed
the changes.

Hi all,
as part of a student project that I was mentoring, I built a small
Paraview server (4 nodes, 16 CPUs). I have no experience with Paraview,
so I'm not sure if this is already available somewhere else, but a
cursory look at the wiki and the mailing list seems to show that most

We've noticed that when you run paraview and connect to N pvservers,
then N point sprite representations get added to the gui - causing a
trail of warnings. Disconnecting and reconnecting can increase this
number to quite amusing levels. I've not had a chance to look into the
code, bu
There is a request concerning ellipsoid glyphs/source on the feedback site,
so I voted for that.
As a quick fix, how do I enable vtk filters in ParaView?
I know that it was possible a while ago, but the wiki entry is out of
date (seems
to refer to 2.X)
