Hi there, i just tried the described process and form e it helped to change the
interpolation in the data set and the problocation filter to flat (from Gouraud)
Hope that helps

Hi Franz,
do you mean that you get a non-empty plot with the can.ex2 dataset, using the
procedure I described below with additionally setting Interpolation to "flat",
using ParaView (which Version?) under Windows?
I have just tried, it does not change anything for me, the plot is still empty.

Hello,
I have a bunch of files that are (kind of) csv format:
0 0.12
0.5 0.1342
1 1.426
...
They are named with the extension .dat. Is there a way to use the CSV reader
to open that file? If I try to open I'm only offered three choices of other
readers.
Thanks,
Florian

Hi everyone, hi Sebastien,
I have a follow-up question about the exporting of X3D files via python.
I noticed that the X3DExporter (see code below) works fine, but creates
only ascii- X3D files, not the binary ones (*.X3Db). The binary export
is available through the GUI, so I'm pretty sure the
I tested pv 3.14 on windows and it worked for me.
Try using the spreadsheet view to make sure that:
1) your probe is placed inside the data set and thus outputting something.
2) you have selected the probe's output point
I suspect 2 is the problem. When I went to select the probe's output

Hi David,
I have it working now!
It turned out that 1) and 2) were the problems. I have learned that clicking
into a 2D geometry (with z=0) for the probe location does not necessarily give
a probe which is actually in the 2D body (the probe output was zero because the
z coordinate was nonzero -
Instead of exporters.X3DExporter try to use exporters.X3DExporterBinary.

Hi all,
this is probably a silly question, but I can't find the answer. Is
there a way to define a programmable filter in a .py file (besides
copying and pasting it into the "Script" property of the programmable
filter?).
Thank you,

Hi everyone,
I am trying to write a .pvtu file so I can run paraview in parallel. My code
works and paraview displays the 4 vtu files properly. Now I am trying to modify
the path so that the field--000*.vtu
files do not have to be in the same directory as the .pvtu file. I managed to

Hello,
using "git clone --recursive"
it is possible to checkout and build paraview with all
dependencies/submodules.
is it also possible to have headers, shared libs of all
paraview+dependencies being installed
to the system from "make install" invoked from the paraview build dir?

That's right - too many irons in the fire. It has been marked as todo.

Hi,
I am seeking advice regarding visualization of weather model output using
paraview.
I am only able to view the first frame of my netcdf file. The dimensions
are:
netcdf mynetcdffile {
dimensions:
Time = UNLIMITED ; // (25 currently)
DateStrLen = 19 ;
west_east = 329 ;
Jade,
We need more information before we can properly answer this question. First,
which netCDF reader are you using (there is more than one in ParaView)? Unless
your data is of a particular format, you should be using the "netCDF files
generic and CF conventions".
Second, we need to know th
Hello,
I am trying to get Paraview to represent the cell normals through 3d-arrow
normal glyph filter for the following file. The cell normals should all
appear in the +Z-Direction but the lines I have included are causing
certain normals to be affected. If I remove these lines, the normals are
