I however meet a problem after installing ParaView 3.6.1 on a Windows XP
service pack 2 computer where I have no administrator rights, while it was
not the case with ParaView 3.4.0. The error message tells me that:

The problem I encountered during my first installation is a problem of
compatibility with Windows XP SP2 I think.

I don't have the ability to upgrade completely to SP3 at this time. I wonder
if there's any specific libraries SP3 upgrades that relate to Paraview and
its dependencies? Perhaps I could upgrade just those.
Developers, can you help me?

Hi Ben,
There is a Microsoft bug in the Windows Runtime manifest file that I include
in the ParaView release that makes it not work on XP SP2. I have fixed it
and am currently regenerating a binary that will work on SP2. The other
solution as mentioned by Pierre is to just upgrade to SP3.
