I finally found that the visit plugin could be loaded from the
tools/manage plugin menu.
But after loading it, when i try to open a cgns file i have the
following error :

I think that Luc is speaking about the Windows version but there is a
similar problem on the Linux64-x86 version: it is impossible to load the
VisIt plugin from the binaries:
Using "Tool / Manage plugins" menu from the "(PV installation root
folder)/bin/plugins/VisItReaderPlugin" folde

I have just downloaded the new PV 3.6.1 Linux64 and Windows 32.
I have tested CGNS and Tecplot on Linux and Tecplot on Windows with
VisIt plugin.
All is working fine!
