Hi, everyone!
I just got my Sirius receiver today and
listened to the preview channel. I got
the home kit and receiver. It's a
little bulkier and heavier than the XM
radio, and the buttons on the remote and
receiver are laid out differently. I'm
going to go ahead and activate tomorrow

Just go to the edit menu and pick the channel pull

I think you will be surprised how well XM satellite radio works. I thought the siding
on the house would effect the performance, but it works quite well. the signal is a
little spotty toward the center of the house. I think the signal may be subject to

The wire to the pcr and regular receiver
is twenty feet long. That's an awful
lot. I don't know how much of an
extension this listener having problems
would need.

Hi everyone, all the discussion about XM radio , I find interesting.
Two things though
It was my understanding that they had two satellites, that they sent signals
from, and not a repeater system
The other thing is, we can't subscribe to it north of the 49th. A?
Well I've seen two of my messages show up. Looks as if there's more than
one group.

No no no. Not
What I mean is, the sound is distorted as if I had the recording level to high. This
only happens when I try to record streaming audio or when I record albums that I
downloaded from the internet so I can split the tracks. As I said, the distortion is
like the level was set to high. But this
t is quite a lot of wire. I use a Delphi boom box and keep the wire in the storage
compartment!
Which Sirius receiver did you buy? I guess it would have to be JVC, Kenwood or
Clarion? I would be interested in the differences between the two services. I find it

Hi PC audio group
Thinking of buying this model,Does anyone own one? What do you think? Battery life
sounds good 117 hours, Is it sturdy? Will it remember where you left off on a cd?
Hear headphones are bad. How does it compare to the Irever 550?
Thanks

Thanks, I have been getting very little sleep, I love just about all music
except for opera, hard core rap, and metal rock. The only thing missing
from XM are a Hawaiian channel, and a channel like Radio Margaritaville
which plays jimmy buffett and jimmy buffett style music.
I am so hooked.
There are repeaters in different areas.
Yes, they use two satellites, Rock and
Roll. Obvious, eh? Sorry you cannot
get it outside the Continental U.S.

Yeah, on the main XM receiver, which is
not on the computer, I have the wire

Hi all. I've heard that file sharing can expose your system to Spy Ware.
This is nasty stuff. It can cause your system to run slowly or freeze-up.

If I go to http://www.foldershare.com
will I run in to problems with Spy Ware?
Mimi, that sounds great. I shall be interested to hear the comparison of Sirius and
XM. I tried to download the adobe channel lineup but for whatever reason, openbook
wouldn't convert it, so if you happen to be able to get the lineup in some kind of
text format, I would like to have it!

Hi Bob. Over at JFWLite, you can download a program like Spyware Guard, and
they also have Spyware Blaster, and I think something called Spybits. I

I don't know if this will help, but I hope so: With Winamp, you can use the

down-arrow. I think with Windows Media player, you have to use f9 and f10
to raise the volume.

Well, the differences you'll find are Sirious carries a few more channels
like Court TV Radio, NBA, NHL, NFL and a few other talk channels. I guess
as a result of more channels they compress some of their feeds, so say on
some of the talk channels the feeds don't sound as good as XM. Sirious
Could be the Audiovox or the new Orbit. Why do you find it interesting that
Sirious would carry the NFL? They already carry the NBA and NHL.
