problems with winamp

When I try playing streaming audio with winamp it cuts out for about a second every 13 seconds. I don't think its my connection speed as I have dsl and get a speed of about three meg. I installed the newest winamp and still had the problem so I went back to 5.24 since it seems to read better wit
