Hi all,
I have my mixer connected through line-in on my computer, I think I've
sselected line-in under vista.
Whenever I connect a device through my mixer, I hear a strange high-pitched
wine through the headphones that I cant get rid of.
I've tried different cables and they're all new. The

Hello Scott,
This winding noise could be coming from your hard drive.
If you are using an integrated sound card which is the kind that is on your
mother board, that is where the problem is.
You may try using another sound card of higher quality, that may fix it for
you.

If they plug in to the 1/8 jack then they aren't true USB speakers. True
USB speakers get the audio through the USB connection as well as the power
and don't plug into the 1/8 jack.

Yes exactly, I have a pair here which i use with Itunes on the Mac,
you plug em in and Itunes can take total control of them, they're
actually classed as a Sound Device on my Mac at any rate and I'd
assume the same thing for windows so you can select that sound device
