replay gain would be? Also is there a way to reset to default if one
should think that one has screwed things up. I will definitely write

I'm trying to make a recording via my PC line-in source, but am failing
miserably! Any helpful tips gratefully received.
I've got my levels set at 80% and am using Goldwave to record, but I can barely
hear the source and messing about with the levels doesn't appear to make any

motherboard and sound drivers updated?

I was just about to send this when Aidan's message arrived, so thanks for
the suggestion but I'm pleased to say that the problem has been tracked
down. And yes, it was indeed user error.
I was checking my cables etc to make sure all was properly connected and
fitted, when
