I've asked this before, had no response so will try one last time.
I know there are people living in the U.K. where the "Long Wave" band is still
in use, could someone possibly make some recordings of some signals on the band
such as BBC Radio 4 etc?

Even there, not much going on. RTE, the irish broadcast
network is there
along with some French stuff. Not to earth shaking as of

Hard to find a radio with Long Wave on it, have they stopped

I think that Radio 4 is still broadcasting on the Long Wave
band, I think Prince Charles was outraged! several years ago
when the BBC wanted to close the Long Wave Transmitter

No, they are not taking it off air in 2016, 2020 at the very very earliest.
Do you want a long wave scan or just samples of stations?

I should have advised, if I do a scan, it will initially be recorded on
cassette because I will use a cassette-radio, it has a built-in mic and
though the radio is reasonably sensative, the mic is appauling, I will need
to use it to identify what I am scanning Etc.
