Ok, well that's completely up to you of course but I prefer to set
that combo box so that I can record directly from whatever sound
device I want rahter than through that Microsoft Sound Mapper which
can sometimes cause problems,.

In SF 7 if you press return on the extract audio from cd, then shift back a
few you should come to a dialogue box called drive. There you should find a
listing of any drives you have. Select the one you want and press return.
That should do it.
