Speaking of Yeti Pro, I've been meaning to get one for ages so did a Google
search to see where they're available in Australia and - believe it or not -
they're available right from the Apple Store which means express free shipping
etc so an order has been placed smile.

and are you 100 % sure it's not electrical humming?
you can check that by touching it while you record. if it stops then it's
a grounding problem.

No no the foam I use is at least a few centimeters thick.
I also tried something like a mouse pad
When I had a similar problem with the turntable rumbling back into the
nearby speakers, I had to put a piece of foam on each of the four feet of
the turntable. The foam was the same type that you find in a foam matress.
The pieces were at least an inch thick and not solid foam, but spongy foam.
You're getting some good tips on this and I found the link to Mic technique
good.
Whatever mic you are using you will get this problem if its sitting directly
above
the computer. I've moved my Rode mic over to another purch to the side of the
desk, and though its not very convenient it cuts
