everything I can think of, and I am stumped. So, I'm wondering if any of you folks have any ideas? Just for specific's sake, She's using Winamp 5.35 and the Nullsoft waveout plugin for her music output, and in the configuration for that plugin, she has Winamp pointed to her SB Live external card

Sounds to me that unless someone needs something specific 5.50 has to offer, one is best leaving well enough alone and remaining with 5.35. Good reason to maintain past versions of programs on hand just in case a newer version causes more problems than benefits. Audio List Help, Guidelines,

Hi Albert, You might also try Foobar2000, www.foobar2000.com. Unlike Winamp, it has a standard user interface with pulldown menus. You fast forward and rewind with the cursor keys, pressing them together with the control key will jump one minute backward or forward. Great program! *** Michael
