mark here, but couldn't you use sound Taxi to convert to another format?
I used to use Sound Taxi to convert my .wma files into .mp3 files that I
could play on my MP3 players that don't support MS's proprietary format.

Yes, I agree. You might be able to find some other converter that will
convert M4A files into another format, but then you run the risk of
introducing some new artefacts. Best if you can go to the source and
just specify another format.

I am trying to understand what all of the excitement is about concerning the
Sound Taxi program Since one can import and convert most audio files using
GoldWave, including Audible, an in a fraction of the time. Am I missing
something here?
