I don't think anyone actually said that sampling was a technological
parody. There are lots of things you can do with samples and loops that you
wouldn't be able to do with whatever was being sampled.

I don't think an audience really needs to know the intricacies of what
you are doing in order to appreciate a performance like this, but they
do(IMO) need to at least under stand that you ARE doing something and
not just triggering loops.
That said... And this is just my opinion of course, I hones
A month ago I was on the list asking for assistance with Euclidean
Rhythms. I figured it out, and now have this:
also a test using TouchOSC on my Ipad :)

pd crashed while I was saving a large patch. now, when I open that
patch, about a third of the objects are gone, and ALL of the

Posted this on the PD forum.. but haven't heard anything yet so i
thought I'd try here as well.
Euclidean Rhythms
I am interested in implementing something like THIS:

in PD.
I understand the algorithm for generating the rhythms on paper, but
i'm not sure how in Pd

I think good examples for kids would be simple math based sequencers.
Either use a fixed set of pitches that are called by smaller numbers
or use midi pitches, as those will be easier for kids to understand.
I would start off the whole demonstration with frequencies though, and
then introduce the m
Great!!
checking out listread now... very helpful.

I thought of something today.. I am confident that I'm not the first
to have done this, but I thought it interesting and useful enough to
share. It is a very basic sequencer that has different programmable
'phrases' that you can switch between. I have included a toggle to
turn on automatic (rand

for a couple of days and it is working wonderfully
for me. In my opinion, this application fills a pretty big hole in my
Linux music studio.
It started as a fork of 'LASH' and is already much more useful.
Check it out! This project needs support!

You can save some power by putting your arrays into tables so you
can't see them. On my system, drawing graphical elements like that
takes alot of power.

Cool!
I didn't expect it to work that simply.. thanks!

Does anyone know what is going on in Steve Harris' LADSPA plugin
'Sinus Wavewrapper' ?
I am guessing that it has something to do with waveshaping, but I
don't really know, and I've not been able to get a sound like that
with my feeble waveshaping attempts.
Or.. get that set up and capture an impulse and build yourself a
convolver in PD.
(and if you DO manage to get a reletively economical convolver built
LET ME KNOW)
