I feel just like you Jim so we will be starting a general patching circle
in Melbourne Australia (maybe still a little out of your way) very soon!
The focus is pretty broad audio-visual experimental open source
software/hardware, whatever platform(s) you like.
The venue will probably be Melbourne

Sounds fun. I'm going to try to drop by for a few hours before I head into work.

IMHO, these wikis should use MoinMoin syntax rather than the other
options. MoinMoin is the closest to MediaWiki, Dokuwiki, etc. It is
the most popular, and I think the least work to get things working.

Hey,
I cc'ed the list since I think many people can contribute to this topic.
That's great! Personally, I haven't really used the wiki page to
organize a meeting, but some have. I basically talk to lots of
people in person, and email them. I get a group of people to commit

I also live in the Chicago area. I am just getting started with pd and also
looking for people to meet up.

I'm in Chicago, too. I'd be totally up for some sort of get-together.

This is great. I wonder where we could meet? Does anyone have access to a
suitable facility/space? I'll keep my eyes/ears open for opportunities. It
would be nice to start a monthly get together!

Hm, how about a Google map to go with it? So people can see at a glance
if there are any Pd'ers in their local area. I'd be happy to set this up

Hello all,
It would appear that there is a lot of interest in these get-togethers
in various places...
How about we start a section on the PureData.org site for these, and
there could be a different page for each of the locations, telling
people when and where, and then do some sort of follow-up
I say just make a page. A page in http://puredata.info/community
makes sense. The website is mostly a wiki, so feel free to use it as
such!

yo dude.. even before reading you mail i knew, that it must be you..
hi list, specifically persons in nyc..
I noticed that some old postings exist about patching circles and was
curious if we could arrange another such meeting.
I know of a gallery we could use in Brooklyn, or perhaps Hans wants to host
it again?
cheers,

I am up for it, I could host it at Eyebeam or perhaps NYC Resistor.
Maybe in like 10 days? I am thinking weekday evenings works best.

etc probably not alone...
