SATA drives have a different power connector. The connector is also
flat like the sata connector and wider. Some power supplies have this
sata connector other don't and sometimes they suppy a conversion cable
with the drive.

What about shooting DNG for now until a new ACR version comes out.

Start my retraining Wednesday, with possible road test on Friday. Old
boss is in a bind for next week to Thunder Bay, so I'll do that, and
April 7th is the start of carear #2 or a nervous break down, one or
the other.
I promise i'll stay at this for more than a week.:-)

IIRC the last SATA drive I installed had a standard power connector.

Check in the BIOS setup to see if SATA drive detection is enabled. Most
all BIOS' allow detection of devices you know won't be detected to be
disabled, to speed up the post up operation, so the machine will boot
faster.

Obvious questions, yeah.
The answer seem to be no on both :-)
Can't hear no spinning, so most likely it has no power.
The obvious next question is, why? I can't find any power contacts
from the power supply that matches any connections on the drive. So I
was assuming the power was integrated into

No one here is a legpuller.
We're all deadly serious.
When we get together, it usually results in fistfights.

I'm trying to rebuilt a puter with a SATA disk. For some odd reason it
does not detect the disk. The BIOS tells me (Not Detected). This is my
first time connecting a SATA drive, so I'm just fiddling around
looking for a way to connect the bits and piec
As a matter of fact, you can go to Adobe's website, login on your
account, and obtain all the registrations/license keys for any
software you've licensed from them. All you need to do is retrieve
your license key, download and install Lightroom, input the license
key and you're done.

I'm not sure if I did register it.
For some odd reason I did not expect being in the situation I am in
now. I'm not a worst case scenario guy.
I think I'll start with my Elements lisens first. The purchase should
be registered at B&H. The Lightroom lisense originally purchased at
