Yes, those are the real colors. Before sunset it is incredibly dark,
with many stars clearly visible. As the sun nears the horizon, the
sky lightens, turning a very deep blue, then it lightens as the sun
pops above the horizon and begins to rise rapidly.

Yup, I shoot raw. I have for a long time. This pose was one frame
in a series of shots with other poses. I metered with an incident
meter to get the correct exposure so it needed almost no corrections.

Nice shot. I can't help but wonder if some usage of color would be
good. It is, after all, face painting. One thought is to select the
mirror and leave the color there and then treat the rest of the scene

Hmmm. This dpreview article was written for the K200D, and it's from
a dubious source. I may attempt a little test. The dynamic range of
my K20D with EDR turned on appears to be better than that of the K10D
in RAW shooting, but that my be due to the different sensor.
