Well timed! Just as the oars are touching the water, the crew like a coiled
spring, ready to pull as a unit.
I think this is my favourite from this enjoyable set.

Lovely story (about her liking the photo and you meeting her) and really
well-composed photo. And again with the great light!

You're welcome.
I'm using the standard Leica neck strap at present. It's reasonably comfortable
and certainly strong enough, but I don't usually wear a large and heavy camera
like this around my neck or even on my shoulder very much. I find that too
tiring. I usually like to wrap the

Thanks, Ann.
The look of the water, and the sense of the chill in it, appealed to

These delicate birds, about a half-metre tall, amble along at a snail's pace
seemingly unperturbed by the world around them. Very hard to see when they
get into the grass. Taken in Kruger about 10km from the Phalaborwa gate on a
gloomy, grey day. Scroll left for another view.
Very nice image, Alan. "Delicate" appears to fit.
Easy to see how they could "disappear" into the background.

Yesterday I enjoyed a little photo safari and then, hearing that a
group of Whooping Cranes did not take off as expected on Saturday I
raced down to Thayer County to try to get to see them before sundown.
Somewhere along the line I accidentally changed some setting (not
through the menus) and

How is it for action captures? Is there a delay between what you see when you
hit the release and what you actually capture?
