I'm not sure to which plants you are referring.
The majority of the Mountain Aloes are mature (very old) & at full
height so they all appear much the same. With so little grass cover on
these rocky slopes, any fires which do occur are not particularly
destructive. All the old leaves
It sure illustrates the scene. It definitely looks more scenic than
comfortable.

There appear to be a lot of plants (like the two in the left foreground) that
are about the same height, and don’t look like the pictures I find via Google
for either mountain aloe or naboom. What are they? Are they all the same height
because of fire?

18th century chieftain. The rainfall on the eastern (Tzaneen) side of
the mountains is high making it a prime area for fruit farming with
forestry on
