There are really terrific, especially the picture of the group of
penguins. As I recall from an earlier posting of yours, these are
from the 1970s, are they not? I wonder what that stretch of
Antarctica looks like now.

Let me ask -- and apologies if this already came up -- one question,
which hopefully will also help decrease the urge to run up a credit
card and buy the K20D: beyond the higher megapixel count, has anyone

It beats DHL; their way of describing the status of a package makes no
sense. Out for Delivery may be frustrating, but at least it's clear.

Just got my DA 12-24 f/4 and a second AF360 flash, along with 4gb
SDHC card. I should have those cheap wireless slave triggers by the
end of the week, and I'll report on my experience. I'm really
looking forward to trying out this lens.

Doing my usual morning browsing through B&H, I found a tamron lens

Does anyone have any experience with the Tokina AF 20-35mm f/2.8?
It's a constant aperture wide angle lens. BH has it for $299, which
seems like a good price.

A very nice photo; the crop detail is especially nice. I think I
would have liked the photo a bit better if the bird weren't dead
center at the bottom of the photo. Do you know what kind of bird
that is, by the way.
Thanks,

Well, I finally got my K10D; not from Dell, who still hasn't gotten
it in, but from Best Buy, which had a special on the Kit for $899.
Took two days from order to delivery. The camera feels really solid,
and I'm glad I had the advantage of reading of people's experiences
here so I knew no

Maybe I'm just impatient, but I've been waiting since December 15 for
K10D to arrive. I ordered through Dell because they had an excellent

While I'm waiting -- still waiting, forever waiting -- for my K10D to

with the camera. I already have the grip, and I had read that
there's a little place for storing remote controls and SD cards in
it, but I haven't seen
I think All Clad is the best, but if you live close to a commercial
restaurant supply service, you can find aluminum clad stainless steel
cookware that's almost as good as All Clad for a lot less. For my
own taste, I'd avoid the adonized aluminum and the non stick

I had the same problem with my *istD, and it turned out -- as was
posted a few months back, I think -- that some of the earlier
assemblies had problems with the a wire burning out or some element
essentially breaking. You'll have to send the camera in for repair

And B&H lists it for sale (although it says it's out of stock). I
know they still list the Mamiya ZD, which may never appear, but you'd
think they got this info from an actual sales or inventory database.
So maybe this will be here in time for Christmas?
