Hi all,
Today I "pre-ordered" a Canon 10D for $1514.95 (with two-day delivery). The
decision to go "all digital" for color dictated having to choose which
company has the best long-term future in digital. Well, sorry to say,
there's not much contest among the "traditional" photographic companies.
Just on the small chance this hasn't been posted to the group yet...

Hi all,
Mike has a nice column, bits and pieces of which we've already read on this
list, that includes his current thinking on the *ist (which I still think
means "realist" as in: "what's going to make us the most money as a common
digital/film platform"). He sets the *ist up to make his point ab
Hi all,
As I noted in a previous post, I suspect that black and white is better
served (at least so far) by film. Why this is so I'd love to hear some
speculation on by such folks as Mike. But let's say it is. Then "going all
digital" doesn't mean leaving film. It just means that color is better

Hi all,
The Canon G3 has convinced me to go "all digital," and, yes, to go with
Canon. And so I'm offering the following for sale to the group before
turning to ebay on Sunday.
1. Totally mint Black FA77mm/f1.8 Limited complete with caps, softcase,

Hi all (again),
Here's more (and, yes, I'm selling to save up for the Pentax DSLR):
1. LX with FA-1 finder, serial #5317237. Bought from Rob Studdert a few
months ago. 3200 ASA, regular shutter release surround, roller on film back.
No brassing at all and really fine shape except for the bottom p
Hi all,
Sorry for putting up "for sale" on Sunday rather than Friday, but I've had a
hard time deciding to "let go" of the following.
1. Black KX (Serial# 8380420): This is in *very* good condition with the
only signs of minor brassing on the right corner of the base-plate (on the

Hi all,
I realize this has been discussed in the past, but I need a refresher:
exactly what is the problem with the "yellowing" of the screwmount 50/1.4s?
I take it that this is some kind of problem with the "aging" of the early
multicoating process, but I'd like to know more details, specificall
Having just lost out on ebay for a A*85/1.4, I'll have to compensate by
dreaming about:
1. A*135/1.8 (to up the ante on my K135/2.5)
2. FA*200/4 Macro ED&IF (to up the ante on my A100/2.8 Macro)
3. and then a lens I actually own and love: M150/3.5 (just used it at a
friend's wedding with great
*too* sharp)
3. A*85/f1.4, don't own it, would love to, but hesitate because of its
front-element "you're staring at a huge lens" effect; I like low-key work
with people. Still
