Extended warranties are mostly a waste of money, there are very very
few things I buy an extended warranty for.
Buy your equipment with a credit card that offers automatic warranty
extension. Mine doubles the manufacturer's warranty.

I was always under the impression that this extended warranty thing is
retailers side business with the highest commission rate for salesperson.
