Minor detail: what happens if you only have one card in the K-3, and use slot
#2 rather than #1?
On the way out to dinner last night I grabbed the K-3, neglected to get the
card from the reader where I had been downloading some afternoon playing-around
shots. But I did have a card in the #2

I am surprised that such a question was even raised: why would there be
any problem with only one card even in the 2nd slot?
If there were, - I'd say that would be a manifestation that
Pentax/Ricoh engineers are incompetent idiots, which never appeared to
be the case.

Actually Igor, I was half expecting to get a No Card warning. All of the
instructions are very specific as to slot #1 or #2. JPEGs aways go on #2 under
RAW+. Card utilization is always #1 and then #2.
On the other hand, it makes sense that the logic is: a) try to write to card
#1; b) if card
