same here, I got mine a few weeks ago (with rebate :) and was
impressed with the build, considering it is plastic. Although I have
not taken a picture with it yet as I shipped the body to Pentax (for

I'd heard so many reports of the "average" build quality that I was a
little surprised when I received it ... This example is a nicely
finished, smooth operating lens. It's not a metal body Limited for
sure, but it feels good and works very nicely.

Some nice pics there. The DA 50-200 is one of my most used lenses. I've even
used it for paying jobs. It's build quality is just average, but it delivers
very nice images.

A few of those are about 30% crops from the full frame straight out
of the K10D. Exposure with this lens is very nearly right on the
