Of course it allows you to disable the grip (it doesn't disable the
second battery of course) and still allows to use the camera as usual
in landscape mode or in review mode.

It's pretty much a no brainer, Walt.
But a couple things:
There's a slot in the grip that will hold the rubber
contacts cover that you will remove from the camera. I
only mention it because some have mentioned that they
didn't notice this.
Also, in operation, you may notice that either the
e-dia

All the buttons/wheels it offers are the same than those on the camera.
Just a note: the On/Off switch from the grip is just only a power
switch for the grip. Your main On/off needs to be On of course.
