I dunno about "USM" speed of course but I can tell you that AF with
DA18-55 at 55 (f/5.6) is *at least* 2-3 times faster than a D with
NiMH.

I don't know how scientific this video at YouTube.com, comparing Sony Alpha,
Canon 400D and Samsung GX10 is, but it should tell us something.
